SD Card Swapping

This post is also available in: Français Deutsch

The Scout display does not indicate which card Scout is recording to. If you need to replace an SD card during a study:

  1. Stop the recording.
  2. Put Scout to sleep. Press the yellow button once and then press the Sleep button.
  3. Remove the SD card that you want to replace and then insert another SD card.
  4. Start Scout by pressing the yellow button.
  5. Start the recording.

If there is an SD card in Slot A and another in Slot B, Scout determines which card to record to using this logic:

  • If the estimated recording size is less than the open space on the card in slot A, record to the card in slot A
  • If the estimated recording size is larger than the open space on the card in slot A but smaller than the open space on the card in slot B, record to the card in slot B
  • If the estimated recording size is larger than the open space on the card in slot A and the card in slot B, record to the card in slot A
  • If either card becomes full or unavailable during recording, record to the other card if any space is available on that card
